The new laboratory headed by Prof. Etienne Meylan, strategically located on two sites of the ULB :

in the new Bordet Institute (Erasmus campus), Faculty of Medicine,

in the Immunobiology Laboratory (Gosselies campus), Faculty of Science

is looking for a

Laboratory technician / lab manager (m/f/x)

The laboratory’s research focuses on the development of lung cancer, with particular interest in the role of the cells of the innate immune system.

Most of the research will be conducted on the Erasmus campus, in the new Bordet Institute.

Function

  • Participation in the research projects of the group : experimentation on immunohistochemistry, microscopy, molecular biology, cell culture, cell purification from tumor samples, flow cytometry, extraction of RNA, DNA and protein extraction, real-time PCR; support for PhD students and post-docs in their research work
  • Participation in the maintenance of inventory records of reagents
  • Purchase and maintenance of the equipment and supplies of the laboratory
  • Training of new staff in the use of the different techniques

Profile

  • Master (MSc) in medical biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or equivalent
  • Knowledge of histological, immunohistochemical and fluorescence imaging techniques
  • Knowledge of molecular and cellular biology techniques
  • Interested in the participation in the establishment of the laboratory in the Bordet Institute
  • Interested in the implementation of translational research of the laboratory
  • A good knowledge of English and proficiency in French
  • Rigor, strong motivation and organizational capacity
